We have the great pleasure to announce that during the Gender Links regional Voice and Choice SADC Protocol@Work Summit yesterday, YUVA has been declared as the winner of the VoiceandChoice Youth Award 2021.
The Summit brought the winners from the 2019/20 country summits together virtually. The good practices adjudicated by panels of judges who are experts in the relevant fields. There were approximately 135 presentations from 14 countries in eight thematic areas, five local government and two entrepreneurship categories.

On Saturday, 2 November 2019, YUVA was invited by the Head of the SADC Electoral Observation Mission (SEOM), the Honourable Lt. Gen. (Rtd) Dr Sibusiso B. Moyo, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Trade of the Republic of Zimbabwe, to the Launch of the SEOM to the 2019 National Assembly Elections of the Republic of Mauritius, at the Caudan Arts Centre, Port Louis.
The SADC delegates comprised of the Honourable Lt. Gen (retired) Dr Sibusiso Moyo, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Trade of the Republic of Zimbabwe, Head of the SEOM to the Republic of Mauritius; the Senator Amb. Simon K. Moyo, Alternate Head of the SEOM to the Republic of Mauritius; the Electoral Commissioner and Members of the Electoral Supervisory Commission; Heads of the International Electoral Observation Missions; Heads and Representatives of the Diplomatic Missions accredited to the Republic of Mauritius; Members of the SADC Electoral Advisory Council as well as SADC Election Observers.

YUVA has the pleasure to announce that it will be participating in a 1-week forum organised by Gender Links in collaborations with the Zanele Mbeki Development (ZMDT) entitled African Women in Dialogue (AWID) from 19 to 23 November 2018 in Johannesburg, South Africa. YUVA will be represented by Ms Soveeta Chengappa Naidu, executive member of YUVA.
The aim of the workshop is to bring together women from the African continent, particularly the SADC region to participate in a dialogue in regards to the situation of women locally and regionally. The theme of the forum is “Strengthening the African Women’s Movement within the Fourth Industrial Revolution towards a new and value-based eco-system” and it arises from the recognition that most women are not familiar with the concept of this revolution. As from today, the YUVA Academy is participating in a three-day Regional Civic Education Conference at Pretoria, South Africa. The Conference aims to together Civic Education practitioners, CSOs, State actors and other relevant stakeholders from the SADC region to deliberate on the current state of the civic engagement, and create a better platform to share best practices and lessons learnt.
