For the whole week, every time I have been opening newspapers and my social media accounts, I have been hit by the rage and hate of people of Mauritius towards the various controversies and allegations on the Jugnauth government, namely Angus Road, Wakashio, Kistnen case, Air Mauritius crash, EU blacklist, Saint-Louis Gate among others.

Team Mauritius bags Robotics Safety Award at FGC 2019, Dubai

Team Mauritius participated at the FIRST Global Challenge (Robotics) 2019 in Dubai between 24 to 27 October. Mauritius was represented by 5 young people – Anushree Luchooa from the Droopnath Ramphul State College, Tanversingh Juwheer from the Goodlands State Secondary School (Boys), Taran Dhani Varun from the Mauritius Institute of Training and Development (MITD), Devesh Takoor from the Sir Leckraz Teelock State Secondary School and Lurvish Polodoo from the Royal College Port Louis.

An initiative of YUVA, FIRST Global Mauritius aims at promoting STEM education in Mauritius by selecting and mentoring kids to form a solid Team Mauritius for the yearly international FIRST Global Challenge – “The Olympics of Robotics”.

Asking for the Real Mauritian Miracle after Pope Francis’ Visit

It was an anticipated day – months of build-up and preparation for this iconic visit that the Pope was making to Mauritius.

Some were genuinely interested to see this man while others were motivated by curiosity more than anything else. But the bottom line was that the Pope’s visit was a day Mauritius will never forget.

Deportation of Mauritian National: The World Could Do With a Lot Less Keyboard Warriors

Who would have imagined, years ago, that our first priority before enjoying a delicious meal with someone we cherish would first need to be documented so that it could be posted on Instagram and Facebook?

Who would have thought that our children would start learning what is appropriate, not at a university, so that their social media content would not appear as an attack on any individual or institution?
