YUVA Academy admitted to Civic Education Network for Eastern and Southern Africa (CENESA) by Interim Steering Committee in Kenya

YUVA is thrilled to announce that YUVA Academy has been admitted to the Civic Education Network for Eastern and Southern Africa (CENESA) by the Interim Steering Committee seating on the 31st of July 2019 in Nairobi, Kenya.

The Resolution to set up CENESA was adopted at the Eastern African Civic Education Forum in Entebbe, Uganda. In the course of the Forum, it became evident that consistent connectivity between Eastern and Southern Africa was lacking. There was thus a need for a platform that enables civic education and youth empowerment organisations across the sub-continent connect, collaborate and cooperate with each other.

YUVA extends its Moral & Civic Education Programme to Jean Marie Frank Richard SSS, La Tour Koenig

The YUVA Academy has successfully launched its Moral and Civic Education programme at the Jean Marie Frank Richard State Secondary School, La Tour Koenig on Tuesday, 13 August 2019. During this first session, Mr Kris Padayachy, the trainer, and the YUVA team welcomed 38 determined and dynamic students.

The session opened with an introduction of the students before getting to the first topic of the day, which was ‘Respect’. Mr Padayachy talked about the respect of the self and the respect of others. During this part of the session, the students were a little shy to participate, so Mr Padayachy had a little chat with them to make them feel at ease. They were asked about where they live and at what time they reach school in the morning. After that, the students felt more comfortable to speak out during the rest of the session.

I used to go to class without any specific goal.

Whenever it came to playing with my games, I used to disassemble them and assemble them and that is how my hobby became a professional interest. At the moment, I pursue vocational training in the field of electronics at the Mauritius Institute of Training and Development (MITD). After my studies, I would like to become an engineer. Later on, I want to create a start-up to design high-tech gadgets.
