YUVA met Elles C Nous to discuss areas of collaboration to help underprivileged children

Elles C Nous Association sought a meeting with YUVA in order to discuss potential areas where both organisations can work together. The meeting was held today at the office of the Elles C Nous Association. Elles C Nous Association was founded by Milene Abdoolkader, who is also the President of the association.

The target group of Elles C Nous Association is 85 children from 5 to 17 years old and 50 parents.  Elles C Nous Association is a community development association mainly active with children and their families in the region of Beau Bassin, Rose Hill and in the district of Plaines Wilhems in general.

Most of the children at ECNA display great talent and interest in Arts and Sports. The Association provides them with the facilities and support in order to develop their talents and skills through painting and playing football.

The mutual interests of both organisations being the welfare of children and young people living in poverty, Elles C Nous Association sought to collaborate with YUVA so as to identify areas where the latter could provide support to these children.

YUVA proposed to conduct the Moral, Civic and Sex Education programme to the children of Elles C Nous Association, in order to promote their independent thinking and self-directed learning capabilities. At the end of the programme, certificates will be distributed and follow up will be done after one month to identify the progress made and to ensure that the children are applying what they have learned through the training.

The meeting concluded with a visit to the Elles C Nous Association’s premises. The children are provided with many facilities, including a well-equipped music class, an art class where all the equipment are provided to help the students to explore their talents in order to get out of poverty and lead a good life.
