A board meeting held by YUVA executive board members on Sunday, 8 May 2016 has approved the application for resignation of National President Krishna Athal, and voted Sandya Seechurn as the incoming National President of YUVA.
Founder of YUVA, Krishna Athal submitted his resignation to the national board of YUVA due to his new venture as politician in active politics of the country. Respecting the code of ethics of YUVA, all board members welcomed the decision positively, though with sadness of losing a firm leadership.
On her appointment to her new position as National President, former YUVA District President of Pamplemousses Sandya Seechurn said, “It is with great pleasure and humility that I accept this new position. I hope that the Board has rewarded my devotion and commitment to YUVA. I’m deeply honoured and thankful to everyone for having trusted and voted for me as the new National President. In accepting this position, I hereby acknowledge all my responsibilities towards YUVA and engage myself to fulfil them to the best of my abilities.”
“I intend to work harder towards realising the vision of the organisation. I begin this new journey of YUVA with courage, commitment, passion and most importantly devotion to strengthen the pillars of our organisation and to maintain a transformational leadership,” she added.
